Ningbo COSCO opens a new route to Southeast Asia!

On May 13, the "Xinmingzhou 90" ship loaded with mechanical and electrical products, textiles and plastic products exported from northern Zhejiang, slowly left the Zhapu port area of Jiaxing Port, marking the official opening of the Ningbo Ocean "Jiaxing-Ningbo-Wenzhou-Manila" container transportation express line.

The Manila Express Line opened this time calls at Jiaxing Port, Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Wenzhou Port and Manila Port in turn, relying on the resource synergy advantages of Zhejiang Seaport Group to build a golden waterway from the coast of Zhejiang to the core port of the Philippines. At the same time, with the Port of Manila as the strategic fulcrum, it will form a maritime logistics artery connecting the Yangtze River Delta and the Southeast Asian market.

Ningbo COSCO said that the opening of this new route is an important embodiment of its deep cultivation of the Southeast Asian shipping market and its full promotion of service quality and upgrading, and it is also a pragmatic measure for Zhejiang Seaport Group and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group to efficiently coordinate port and shipping resources and boost Zhejiang's foreign trade enterprises to "go global" faster.

After the opening of the new route, goods in northern Zhejiang can sail directly to Manila Port at the "doorstep" without transit through the hub port. It is estimated that compared with before the opening of the Manila Express, Ningbo COSCO carries containerized goods exported from Jiaxing Port and Wenzhou Port to Manila Port, and the transportation time can be shortened by 2 to 3 days.

It is understood that the Port of Manila is the largest port in the Philippines and one of the international shipping hub ports in Southeast Asia.

In May 2024, Ningbo COSCO opened the Ningbo-Manila container route in the form of co-cabin with other shipping companies, officially entering the Philippine container transportation market. After a year of operation, the company has won the trust and support of customers with high-quality services, laying a solid foundation and accumulating rich experience for it to further develop its route brand and enhance its competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market.
